TDK Corporation (TSE 6762) announces the introduction of five new models to the TDK‑Lambda brand 5kW GENESYS+™ series of high power density programmable DC power supplies. This expansion now provides incremental and seamless choices in output voltage and current ranging from 0‑10V/500A to 0‑600V/8.5A. Initially launched in 2017, the GENESYS+™ provides higher efficiency, improved performance and is functionally compatible with existing TDK-Lambda Genesys™ and Z+ programmable power supplies. The series is suitable for use in a large number of applications, including component, automotive and aerospace testing, semiconductor fabrication, solar array and battery simulation, plating and water treatment.
All GENESYS+™ 5kW products share a common 1U high 19” (483mm) rack mountable chassis and weigh just 7kg, the lightest in the industry. The five new models are rated at 0‑40V/125A, 0‑60V/85A, 0‑80V/65A, 0‑100V/50A and 0‑150V/34A with operation in constant voltage, constant current and constant power modes. The units can be configured with three phase 170 to 265Vac, 342 to 460Vac or 342 to 528Vac inputs. Up to four power supplies can be connected in parallel with an advanced master/slave system that provides dynamic load response and ripple and noise characteristics comparable with that of a single power supply.
Programming is possible using the front panel controls, remotely via LAN (LXI 1.5), USB 2.0 and RS232/485 communications, or by using the isolated analogue control and monitoring (0‑5V, 0‑10V) which are provided as standard. Optional interfaces include a choice of GPIB (IEEE488.2) and the Anybus CompactCom interface platform for DeviceNet™, EtherCat, Modbus, PROFIBUS and other interface options as they are released. Software drivers, a waveform creator and a virtual front panel GUI are provided in the software package. Safety features are standard in all GENESYS+™ power supplies, providing Safe/Auto Re-Start, Last Setting Memory and built-in protection functions.
The five-year warranty series is safety certified to IEC/EN/UL 60950‑1, is CE marked to the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS2 Directive and is compliant to the industrial IEC/EN 61326‑1 standard for conducted EMI, radiated EMI and EMC immunity.
