Level 3 Test Development Engineering Apprenticeship
Location : Ilfracombe
An exciting development opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual has arisen to join the Manufacturing Engineering Department as an Apprentice Test Development Engineer at TDK-Lambda UK. This position will involve working as part of the team that provides automated testing solutions for product built within Factory 1, Factory 2 and third party suppliers.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
This role will initially involve gaining experience and understanding of how departments within the company function and an extensive training programme will be delivered over a number of years designed to give you all the practical skills necessary to fulfil the role. Alongside this, the successful candidate will study a Level 3 qualification in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Electrical) and any other relevant training skills required.
Working week: Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 / Friday 07:30 – 12 noon
Skills required: Computer literate, the ability to work as part of a team and independently, manage workload and prioritise tasks, able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, eye for detail and accuracy, good problem solving and analytical skills. Experience in using Microsoft. NET framework would be an advantage.
Qualifications required: GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/5 or grade C (or above) are essential.

Salary: £5.30 per hour
The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Developing and maintaining software for automated test equipment
- Validating and installing test equipment
- Assisting in the design and development of test equipment
- Reviewing and improving existing test processes
- Undertaking diagnosis & corrective actions of design & build related failures
- Generating and controlling documentation covering test process
- General Support of systems for both in-house and third party manufacture
