Trainee Web Developer
Location : Ilfracombe
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the EMEA Digital Marketing Tools Team at TDK-Lambda UK for a Trainee Web Developer. This role would suit an enthusiastic individual, looking for an opportunity to develop a career in the challenging field of web development.
The goal for the successful candidate is to become an integral part of our small team, working on the development and maintenance of the software tools used throughout TDK-Lambda EMEA’s sales and marketing departments.
An extensive period of training will be undertaken to develop the required skills. The initial focus of training will be on front-end web development skills, such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Once front-end skills are mastered, training will move onto back-end skills such as Java, JSP and SQL. Training will be a mix of in-house and online learning.
Qualifications, knowledge and skills required:
• Maths and English Language at GCSE Grade C or 4/5 minimum is essential
• A-Level in Maths, Science or a Technology based subject would be desirable but isn’t essential
• Be computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Interest in programming, internet and web technologies
• Previous programming experience (any language) desired but not essential
• Critical eye for website and GUI usability
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Logical thinker
• The ability to work as a team player, and alone without supervision where the role requires
This is a full time position working the following hours:
Monday - Thursday 07:45am - 16:30pm with a 45 minute unpaid lunch break
Friday 07:45am - 12:15pm.
