A vacancy has arisen within the Quality Department for a Quality Control (QC) Engineering Apprentice, reporting to the QC Lead Engineer. This role would suit a proactive individual seeking an opportunity to develop and progress into a long‑term career within the Quality department. The successful candidate will work with the QC Lead Engineer supporting compliance activities across TDK‑Lambda UK in line with customer expectations.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

• QC support - assisting with basic inspection tasks, lean manufacturing processes and workmanship standards, and shadowing the QC Lead Engineer.
• CAPA support - gather data, update records, observe root‑cause analysis sessions and contribute simple actions as competence develops.
• Stop Notice investigations - support documentation updates, minute‑taking and follow‑up tracking.
• Assist with evidence preparation and attend Interco PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) calls as an observer.
• Customer complaint investigations - retrieve traceability data and support FA report evidence collation.
• Inspection equipment training - learn safe operation of Tagarno, Keyence, X‑ray and other tools.
• NPI participation - support feedback collation and documentation updates.
• DFM exposure - shadow design meetings to understand manufacturability considerations.
• Shipment validation - assist with ERP‑LN blocking processes and certification documentation.
• Workmanship Standards maintenance - support updates to standards and controlled change documentation.
• Internal audits - assist with preparation, evidence gathering and follow‑up actions.
• Continuous improvement - apply basic lean tools and contribute improvement ideas.

Experience, knowledge and skills required:

Interest in engineering, manufacturing or quality, good communication and teamwork skills, strong attention to detail and willingness to learn, ability to follow structured processes and take ownership of tasks, competent in Microsoft Office applications, professional, reliable work habits and positive engagement with all stakeholders.

Working week:   Monday – Thursday 07:45 – 16:30 / Friday 07:45 – 12:00 - 37.5 hours per week

Course:  Quality Practitioner Level 4 Apprenticeship – January intake for 12 months

Salary:    Starting salary will be £18,982 per annum, in line with apprentice pay rates structure
