Supply Chain Administration Assistant

Location : Kingsley Avenue, Ilfracombe, Devon EX34 8ES

Job Description:

TDK is a supplier to some of the most diverse, technology based and original equipment manufacturers worldwide including global organisations within the Industrial, Medical and Test & Measurement markets.

A vacancy has arisen in the Supply Chain Department for a full time Administrator who will report directly into the Head of Supply Chain and be responsible for providing support to ensure that planning and purchasing services are provided in an effective and efficient manner across the business.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

Provide general administrative support to the Planning and Purchasing departments.

Support purchasing by:

  • Having knowledge to communicate with external suppliers and internal customers to ensure that the parts purchased are of high quality, best cost and lead-time.
  • Administration of indirect purchase orders to ensure all orders are placed correctly.
  • Knowing the TDK code of ethics to ensure the supply chain is ethical.

Support planning by:

  • Supporting the update of LN following the Production meeting.
  • Assist in closing of production orders.

Working week: Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 / Fridays 07:30 – 12 noon.

Salary: From £24,862

Experience, knowledge and skills required:

  • A key aspect of this role will involve dealing with internal and external customers; therefore, a confident telephone manner and excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • As well as working as part of a team, the ability to work alone and being able to prioritise tasks is crucial for the role.
  • GCSE Maths and English (grade C or 4/5) minimum is essential.
  • The ability to work proactively by solving issues and presenting solutions whilst maintaining and developing new processes.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Access) is desirable – full training can be provided.
  • Previous experience working in an administrative role is essential.
