PCBA Support Engineer
Location : Kingsley Avenue, Ilfracombe, Devon EX34 8ES
TDK is a supplier to some of the most diverse, technology based and original equipment manufacturers worldwide including global organisations within the Industrial, Medical and Test & Measurement markets.
An exciting position has arisen within the Manufacturing Engineering Department. This role will require the successful candidate to help support existing manufacturing processes within the PCBA area of Production, identifying opportunities to improve the productivity and yield.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- The generation and modification of product assembly, AOI and flow solder programs.
- Down time reduction/elimination through assisting and supporting production processes, equipment and personnel.
- Undertake diagnosis of build related failures of product and processes, defining the required containment activities and implementing corrective actions at the root-cause level
- Review existing processes and identify areas for improvement through analysis of yield and warranty return data.
- Assist in the implementation of the TPM program for all of the equipment within their remit.
- Assist in the process validation of new product from design into production.
- Generate documentation covering manufacturing processes (training, technical documents and manuals) through using relevant systems within the company.
- Training & licensing of operators in the use of relevant production equipment & processes.
Skills required:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- The ability to work as both part of a team and alone without supervision
- Manufacturing experience is essential, preferably in the Electrical Power Supply industry.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
- The ability to work proactively, identifying problems and presenting solutions
- Lean or Six Sigma trained desirable
- Previous experience of supporting manufacturing processes is desirable
Qualifications required:
- GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/5 or grade C (or above)
Working week: Alternating Shifts – Week one - Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm, Week two – Monday to Friday – 2pm to 10pm. 37.5 hrs per week
Salary: Starting at £29,992 per annum plus Shift Premium
