TDK is a supplier to some of the most diverse, technology based and original equipment manufacturers worldwide including global organisations within the Industrial, Medical and Test & Measurement markets.

An exciting position has arisen for a Senior Buyer within our procurement team, reporting directly to the Head of Supply Chain. This is a newly created role designed to provide the company with senior level procurement support aligned with our short- and medium-term business strategy.

Experience in a fast-paced Manufacturing environment is essential with focus on high mix low volume desirable.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

• Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: Leading negotiations for significant spend areas to ensure best price and quality.
• Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Monitoring supplier performance, enforcing contract compliance, and managing supplier risk.
• Cost Management & Market Analysis: Analysing market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensuring competitive procurement.
• Contract Management: Ensuring supply agreements are formal, legally sound, and compliant with company standards.
• Inventory & Demand Planning: Optimizing stock levels to match demand while minimizing holding costs.
• Stakeholder Communication: Collaborating with internal teams to understand requirements and aligning purchasing with business goals.

Working week: Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 / Fridays 07:30 – 12 noon.

Skills required:

Ability to work as part of a team and prioritise workload, allowing for unexpected ad-hoc requirements. Proactive problem-solving including route cause analysis and long-term resolution implementation. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. High level of competency in Microsoft Office (excel and access specifically). Strong communication skills.

Qualifications and experience required:

• Manufacturing experience is essential, preferable in the Electrical Power Supply industry.
• Previous experience in a senior procurement role - desirable.
• CIPs (Level 4) qualification – desirable.

Salary: Up to £42k per annum
